The Healthiest Dairy

Most Americans include dairy in almost every meal, whether as a glass of milk, cheese, butter, cream or some other creative form. In fact, there are actually food scientists, often hired by the dairy industry, who’s sole task is to try to find new way to cram more dairy into foods.

Some dairy is better than others

The fact is,  dairy is very bad for you! Our bodies are not designed to be consuming dairy past childhood. Almost all the dairy out there is laced and tainted with pharmaceuticals, pesticides and hormones. Almost all dairy producers in this country provide inhumane treatment to their animals. Unless your dairy comes from a free range source, it was produced by a cow that was forced to be pregnant over and over again, who’s offspring never had a chance and was used to fodder for other cows or made processed into veal. Ayway you look at it, animal products like dairy, are imprinted with misery, fear and disease… how could they not?

From a health standpoint, most dairy is absolutely know to cause major problems in the adult human body. For starters, dairy is a major cause of allergic reactions in the body. Whether that be from a response from being lactose intolerant, or all the phlegm dairy is know to create in the body, or the lowered immunity, or the hormone ebbs and flow produced in the current generation of young people… the list goes on and on.

There are some exceptions though, where dairy isn’t so bad and may even be beneficial is used correctly. Below is a list of more healthy forms of dairy.

Full fat certified raw milk and milk products. Avoid low fat dairy. Goats milk and its products are preferred. Goats are healthier and “clean” not being given hormones or eating toxic grass. Goats milk comes naturally broken down too and is easier to digest and assimilate.

Soured or fermented products are superior over 7 years old, such as kefir, cottage cheese, buttermilk, and soured milk.

Those with lactose intolerance- abdominal cramping, gas, diarrhea, do better with fermented dairy, but sometimes not even that is tolerated.

Nursing children should have mother’s milk. Neither animal nor commercial milk is adequate.

If raw milk is not digested, bring pasteurized milk to a quick boil and then cool. This will breakdown many of the proteins.

Avoid homogenized milk! It brings the enzyme xanthine oxidase into the blood stream where it can scar the arteries leading to fatty deposits and high cholesterol- plaque build ups.

Try to use ghee as a dairy substitute whenever possible. It is a staple in the diet of the Hindu people in India, and is known to strengthen the immune system.

Sour milk recipe

Warm 1-2 cups of milk to body temperature to a pan (how much?) of water. Stir in a tablespoon of buttermilk or yogurt to inoculate the milk. Allow this mix to sit and coagulate and keep gently warm to 70-80 degrees for 24 hrs.
